Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: Odisha Governor Dr. S.C. Jamir inaugurated Param Sava supercomputing facility for Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla of Sambalpur district through video conferencing system from the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
The supecomputing ecosystem will enable to create and develop skills to meet the engineering, research and industry demands, with a capacity of solving multi-disciplinary grand challenges in science and engineering that employ computational science and deep learning techniques.
Inaugurating the facility, the Governor said that this facility will benefit students, faculty and research scholars and will raise the standard of research and technical acumen to enable them to gain a competitive edge in their careers.
VSSUT has partnered with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Ministry of Electronics and IT to set up the PARAM supercomputing system.
The indigenous 'PARAM Shavak' supercomputing facility will help High Performance Computing (HPC) and Deep Learning (DL). The systems are equipped with x86-based latest Intel processor, 64 GB RAM, 8 TB storage, Intel tools and compiler suite, Nvidia-based co-processing accelerator technologies, software development environment, application support, training and tutorials.
Prof. E. Saibaba Reddy, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Secretary, Skill Development and Technical Education, Executive Director, CDAC among others participated in the inaugural ceremony.
