PG Diploma courses in Govt med colleges, DHHs in Odisha from 2018

Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: In order to get more specialist doctors for rural hospitals, the State Government has decided to impart PG Diploma courses to MBBS doctors in all medical colleges and DHHs in the State from 2018.

A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting held under chairmanship of Chief Secretary AP Padhi at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

According to the decision, specialist doctors having experience of more than 10 years would be sent to the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai for training. On return, they would provide training to MBBS doctors in the PG Diploma course. 

The PG Diploma courses would be offered in departments like Paediatrics, Anesthesia, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology etc.The PG Diploma course will of two years.
