OPTCL DGM arrested by Vigilance on graft charge

Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Vigilance sleuths today arrested Mayurbhanj branch Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) Deputy General Manager (DGM) Jasowanta Narayan Choudhury while he was accepting Rs 3,000 bribe.

Simultaneous raids are being conducted on his houses in Baripada and Bhubaneswar.

Sources said Choudhury, who works as the DGM EHT (O&M) Division, Baripada, Mayurbhanj was under the Vigilance scanner after he demanded Rs, 5000 bribe from a local namely Kartikeswar Dutta to clear a bill for a rented vehicle which was engaged at his office.

Today, a trap was laid and Choudhury was caught red-handed by the Baripada Vigilance while he was accepting Rs 3,000 at his office from the complainant.
