Odisha targets 44 lakh quintal Kharif Paddy

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: Odisha Government has decided to begin paddy procurement from November 2017, informs Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi after a review meeting here on Thursday. 

The govt has set a target of 44 lakh quintal kharif paddy to be collected. 36 lakh quintal rice will be collected from the procured paddy.

In addition, 9 lakh quintal paddy to be collected in Rabi season.

10 lakh farmers have been registered this year. Money will be directly transferred to their bank accounts from Odisha State Co-operative Bank.
