Baliguda, Oct 26: In a bid to inspire school dropouts to carry on higher studies, a 46-year-old MLA from ruling BJD is appearing 10th standard high school certificate examination in open school system .
Rajib Patra, who representing Baliguda assembly seat is appearing the examination at Jaleshpatta government girls' high school centre under Tumudibandh block of the district.
Patra, a school dropout who passed 8th standard from Belghar government high school, could not continue studies because of family compulsion and his preoccupation in politics.
In 2014, Patra, a native of Mundigada village under Tumudibandh police station jurisdiction was elected a MLA on a BJD ticket.
It may be recalled here that Kailash Chandra Kulesika, Congress MLA from Laxmipur in Rayagada district, had successfully appeared for secondary board examination last year.
