Minor boy drowns in Koel River during Chhat Puja in Rourkela

Rourkela, Oct 27: In a heartrending incident, a minor boy drowned in the Koel River in Rourkela during the Chhat Puja early this morning.

The deceased was identified as Brahmananda Pandey (15) of Bandhamunda area.

According to reports, Brahmananda was with his family members who were offering prayer to the Sun God as part of a Chhat Puja on the Koel river bank at the time of sunrise this morning. Brahmananda drowned in deep water unnoticed while others were busy in conducting Puja.

Later his body was fished out by Fire brigade personnel.
