BJD Leaders disapprove Dama Rout's anti-women Remarks

Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Senior BJD leader and state Agriculture Minister Dr. Damodar Rout finds himself in a tight spot over his 'Swami Chhadi, Anganwadi' remarks against BJP leader Lekhashree Samantsinghar, as at least 3 senior BJD leaders have disapproved his 'irresponsible' comment.

Senior Ministers Surjya Narayan Patro, Maheswar Mohanty and Ananta Das have taken strong exception to Dama Rout's remarks, saying it was completely uncalled for. Surjya Patro went a step further, saying politicians must exercise restraint in public life and choose words carefully.

It would be interesting to see how BJD President and CM Naveen Patnaik responds to Dama Rout's jibe, which has hurt the sentiments of Anganwadi workers in the state although main target was someone else.
