Police lathcicharge, detain protesting GRS members in city

Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Police on Friday resorted to lathicharge to disperse hundreds of Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRS) who tried to march towards the Odisha Legislative Assembly to protest the alleged apathetic attitude of the State Government towards them.

While more than 100 sevaks were detained by the police many other sustained injuries in the incident.

The gram sevaks hit the streets under the banner of the banner of Nikhil Odisha Gram Rozgar Sevak Sangh (NOGRSS) demanding regularisation of their jobs.
