Traffic on Master Canteen-Rajmahal Square road hit for eviction drive

Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: Tension gripped Ashoka Market area and traffic on Master Canteen-Rajmahal Square road was hit as local traders sat on the road in protest against an eviction drive undertaken jointly by the BMC and the BDA with the help of the Commissionerate Police this morning.

According to reports, a special squad, formed for the purpose, is now undertaking the drive in the market area. Illegal structures are being demolished with help of JCB machines.

In protest, hundreds of shopkeepers and traders are now sitting on the busy road. As a result, vehicular movement has been disrupted fully, causing miseries to commuters.
