Agriculture Ministers seeks report on Bargarh farmer's suicide

Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout today directed the Bargarh district administration to conduct a probe into the alleged suicide of a farmer due to crop loss and loan burden and submit a report. 

Akshsya Dhaura, a farmer committed suicide in Tora village under Bargarh Town police station in Bargarh district last night.

A three-member team led by local Sub-Collector, BDO and Tehsildar will probe the alleged suicide, said the Minister.

According to reports, Dhaura had taken loans from different sources for growing crops. However, he lost crops and could not pay back loans. He was under tremendous pressure. He committed suicide by consuming poison.
