95 hostels for ST, SC students in KBK districts planned

Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: The State Government would set up 95 new hostels for SC and ST students in KBK districts. Around Rs 88 crore will be spent for the purpose, said ST and SC Development Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi.

The Minister further informed that the Gourenmunda Sevashram in Gaisilita block in Bargarh district would be upgraded to a high school.

'In order to provide quality secondary education among the ST and SC students, Government in ST and SC Development Department have been pleased to upgrade the Gourenmunda Sevashram in Gaisilate block in Bargarh district to high school. The aforesaid upgraded high school will be made operational after the requisite infrastructure is developed,' said a ST and SC Development Department notification.

Majhi said that the State Government is committed to ensure in providing quality education to the students of the backward sections of the society.
