Baripada, Nov 1: After remaining closed for over four months during the rainy season, the Similipal National Park and Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj district reopened for tourists this morning.
Like earlier years, the entry of visitors was prohibited since June 16 till October 31 to protect road connectivity to various locations inside the famous sanctuary during the rainy season.
According to informations, the park is all set to welcome tourists with its roads, cottages and other infrastructure already renovated.
Located in the northern part of Odisha adjoining Jharkhand, the sanctuary is considered as a natural heritage with a varied flora and fauna and wildlife.
More than 10,000 visitors from across the country and abroad undertake visits to have a glimpse of the picturesque nature, waterfalls, orchids, birds, carnivorous and herbivorous animals and reptiles.
