100 Govt ITI teachers to be trained at ITE Singapore

Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: The State Government today signed a MoU with ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore to train Government ITI teachers. As part of the collaboration, 100 Government ITI teachers would be trained at ITE Singapore in 2018.

Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) and the ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration on 'Skill Development in Odisha' in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

As part of the collaboration, ITEES will share ITE's experiences in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and provide consultancy support to OSDA in raising the quality of skill development and vocational training.

ITEES will also provide TVET consultancy support to OSDA on proposed Advanced Skill Training Institutes (ASTls) formations for advance skilling of the youths.

Odisha Skill Development Authority Chairman Subroto Bagchi said that nearly 5.30 lakh youths will be trained by the ITEES. ITEES CEO Bruce Poh was also present.

Bagchi said with the help of ITEES Odisha can push up the standards of our ITI institutions to global levels.
