Millennium City gears up for historic Baliyatra

Cuttack, Nov 3: Preparations of the district administration to host the week-long annual historic Baliyatra, which is scheduled to commence from November 4, are in full swing.

While an area of 10 acres on the upper Baliyatra ground has been earmarked for the week-long festival, the administration has mapped around 37 acres on the lower ground near the Mahanadi riverbed for erecting temporary stalls. 

The Commissionerate police have tightened the security measures during the festival and decided to deploy 60 platoons of police. Police forces will be deployed in all ghats during Boita Bandana Utsav, sources said.
