Koraput: A day after the Biju Janata Dal's convenor Bishnu Charan Das hinted at the possible role of special operation group (SOG) personnel behind last month's alleged gang-rape of a minor tribal girl in Koraput district, Koraput SP KV Singh today said that no evidence regarding the involvement of the SOG personnel has been established till date.

'No evidence regarding the involvement of SOG personnel and jawans has been established till date. The movement of any security forces at the crime scene on the day of the mishap has not been established till date,' said Singh, adding that police are working on some vital leads.

'We are working on some vital leads and accused will be nabbed soon,' claimed the SP.

The Class-IX girl of Sarispadar Sevashram School, who is a native of Musaguda village under Pottangi police limits, had alleged that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by four armed security personnel, who were in jungle patch uniform in Lanjiguda forest while returning from Kunduli on October 10. After public outcry, the case was accorded red flag tag and is being probed by the Crime Branch.
