Villager trampled to death in Nuapada

Nuapada: In another incident of man-animal conflict, a villager was trampled to death by an elephant in Bhainshamundi village in Nuapada district early this morning.

The deceased was identified as Lucky Pandey. Lucky had gone to attend a call of nature when an elephant trampled him to death. A herd of five elephants had come to the village in search of foods, said villagers. Lucky died on the spot, said reports.

Villagers are in a state of fear as the jumbo her is still moving in the nearby jungle. Meanwhile locals have begun an agitation demanding adequate compensation for the deceasedís family.
