Odisha amends Right to Public Service Act to ease building plan approval

Bhubaneswar: The State Government has amended set a deadline for approval of building plan applications filed by individuals by amending the Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012, (Odisha Act 8 of 2012).For the low-risk buildings, the plan has to be approved within 15 days form the date of receiving the application. For other categories of houses, the deadline is 30 days. 

A notification to this effect was issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances Department on Monday. 'In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 read with sections 6 and 6 of the Odisha Right to Public Services Act, 2012 (Odisha Act 8 of 2012) the State Government do hereby direct the amendment shall be made in the revised notification of the Government of Odisha in the General Administration and Public Grievance (Administrative Reforms) Department,' said the notification.
