CM Naveen Orders Judicial Inquiry Into Kunduli Gangrape

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered a Crime Branch and Judicial inquiry into alleged gang rape of a tribal school girl at Kunduli in Koraput district.

According to reports, A District Judge will conduct the investigation as per the Commission of Inquiry Act-1952.

Patnaik, who kept mum over the matter since October 10, the day of the occurrence of the incident, has finally directed for a judicial investigation along with the Crime Brach probe into the gangrape.

The CM's decision came a day after Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) ADG Mahendra Pratap said that medical examination report of the 14-year-old girl does not indicate any proof of gang-rape nearly a month after the girl alleged that she was gang-raped by four men in uniform.

The HRPC ADG after submitting his report to the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) said that he had talked to the doctors who conducted her medical examination and their report clearly said she was no gang-raped.

Meanwhile, Koraput SP KV Singh said that the finding of teh medical report contradicted the girl's statement.
