Kunduli gangrape: BJP demands CBI probe

Bhubaneswar: The BJP Odisha unit today demanded a probe by CBI to unearth the truth in the alleged gangrape of a minor tribal girl in Koraput even as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered a Crime Branch and judicial inquiry into incident.

Senior BJP leader Pratap Sarangi when asked about the CM's announcement of a judicial probe and its outcome, said that only a CBI probe can bring the truth to light.

'The Kunduli gangrape incident still remains a mistry. Police are clueless. We demand a probe by central price agency to uncover the mystery,' said Sarangi.

Today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered a probe by Crime Branch and a judicial probe by District Judge into alleged gang rape of a tribal school girl at Kunduli in Koraput district. A District Judge will conduct the probe, said a press release issued by the Chief Minister's Office.
