BJP central team visits Nuapada district today

Bhubaneswar: The BJP central team, which is on a five-day visit to the State now, is visiting Nuapada district today to take stock of crop damage due to pest attack and other problems of farmers of the district.

Notably, the team had visited many villages in Bargarh district yesterday and alleged that the State Government had not taken against precautionary measures to check pest attack on paddy crops and suicide of farmers.

The team comprising MPs Sabitree Bai Thakur and Om Prakash Yadav, Krushak Morcha national general secretary Sugunakar Rao, vice-president Maheswar Sahu, secretary Dr Sambhu Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Krushak Morcha president and MP Birendra Singh and other State leaders have started moving to different affected areas in the district.

The team would submit its report to the party’s national president Amit Shah after completion of its on-the-spot study on crops damage and farmers' suicide in minimum six districts.
