Koraput: The Crime Branch team from Bhubaneswar which reached Koraput on Friday to investigate the Sarispadar gang-rape case, today met the rape survivor's mother and brother at Maliguda.
The team held discussion with the duo about the incident. On Friday, the team members led by Soubhagya Laxmi Patnaik held discussion with senior police officials of Koraput and later went to the crime site at Sarispadar where the alleged mishap took place to check if the crime scene has been manipulated and also visited the child care centre at Dumuriput to meet the minor tribal girl survivor.
The girl was kept at the child care centre under tight police security.
Sources said the team will visit Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital, where the survivor was undergoing treatment, today to talk to the treating doctors.
On October 10, the Class-IX girl of Sarispadar Sevashram School, who is a native of Musaguda village under Pottangi police limits, had alleged that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by four armed security personnel, who were in jungle patch uniform in Lanjiguda forest while returning from Kunduli.
Police are yet to get any clue about the miscreants. The case took a new turn when Human Rights Protection Cell ADG Mahendra Pratap, who conducted a separate probe and submitted his report to the OHRC, said that there was no any evidence of rape on the minor girl forcing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik a judicial probe.
