Baby crocodile captured from village pond near Deras

Bhubaneswar: After hours of struggle, forest officials were successful in capturing a baby crocodile that sneaked into a pond at Mendhasal village on the outskirts of the city here on Saturday.

As per informations, the villagers spotted the reptile in a fish pond of that locality. As no step was taken, the villagers reported the matter to the forest officials following which a team from Khurda Forest Division  reached the spot and captured it.

Locals suspect the reptile might have sneaked in from a nearby lake in Deras area of Bhubaneswar in search of food as the pond is used for fish farming.
