Farmer commits suicide in Balasore village

Balasore: It seems that alleged cases of farmer suicides due to crop loss and loan burden are spreading from one district to another in Odisha by the day.

Babaji Giri, a farmer of Dolabohiri village under Remuna block in Balasore district, committed suicide by hanging self last night. Babaji was found hanging from a tree in the backyard of his house early this morning, according to reports.

Reports said Babaji had taken loans from different sources for undertaking cultivation but his crops were lost. He had been under pressure for many days now.
