Bhubaneswar: The 14-year old tribal girl, who alleged that she was gangraped by four uniformed security personnel in Kunduli forest in Koraput district on October 10, was shifted to Kotpad SC/ST Girls' High School to study further.
The administration shifted her to the school from the Dumuriput Child Care centre after the Class-IX girl gave her nod to pursue study, informed Koraput Child Welfare Committee chief Uma charan Choudhury.
Earlier, a three-member team led by Utkal University psychology professor Namita Mohanty met the victim and counselled her.
The girl, who was a student of Sarispadar Sevashram School, and a native of Musaguda village under Pottangi police limits, had alleged that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by four armed security personnel, who were in jungle patch uniform in Lanjiguda forest when she was on her way to school from Kunduli market where she had visited to get a passport size of her photo for education purpose.
Meanwhile, the Odisha Human Rights Commission has directed the SC/ST Development Department to provide Rs 50,000 interim compensation to the girl, besides ensuring her study at a model school.
