Elephant tramples woman to death in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: In another incident of man-animal conflict, a woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant in a village in Dhenkanal district during late on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Indumati Rout of Nimidha village in the district. Indumati was sleeping in her house when the elephant dragged her out and trampled her to death.

Villagers are now in a state of fear as the elephant is still moving around the village.

It may be noted that incidences of elephants trampling villagers are being reported from Dhenkanal, Angul and Sundargarh districts often for some days now.
