Stone laid for new building of ITAT in Cuttack

Cuttack: Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra on Sunday laid the foundation stone for construction of the new building of Income tax appellate tribunal, Cuttack bench in the presence of Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and State Law Minister Pratap Jena.

The State Government has provided 1.6 acres of land completely free of cost for construction of the tribunal near the Odisha Judicial Academy. The Centre has also already sanctioned funds for construction of the building.

Orissa High Court Chief Justice Vineet Saran was also present.

Established in 1970, the income tax appellate tribunal, Cuttack bench, the office was operating at a rented house.
