Odisha Cabinet to meet today

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet will meet today at the State Secretariat here at 6 pm. As many as six proposals of different department are likely to get approval in the meeting.

The meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is likely to take decision to amend the Wildlife (Protection) (Odisha) Rules, 1974 and enhance the compensation money for the victims, those who lost their lives in wild animals attack.

The decision for the revision of project cost from Rs 2,600 crore to Rs 3,843 crore for construction of 473 KV sub-stations with associated 33 KV and 11 KV lines is also likely to be taken in the Cabinet meeting today.

Besides, the Cabinet is also likely to approve the tender for the solid waste management project in Berhampur Municipal Corporation.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers will also meet on Thursday to discuss the first supplementary budget to be placed in the winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly likely to start from November 28.
