BJD fumes after Centre rejects demand to hike paddy MSP

Bhubaneswar: Ruling BJD slammed the Centre for rejecting Odisha govt's proposal to hike minimum support price (MSP) of paddy. The ruling party stated farmers of Odisha would stage protests if the Centre does not reconsider its decision.

BJD leader Sanjay Kumar Das Burma, BJD MLA from Redhakhol Rohit Pujari, BJD spokesperson Dr. Sasmit Patra and Bijaya Nayak addressed a press conference in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

Speaking at the conference the leaders said farmers' issue is a national issue and cannot be solved without the support of the union government and Centre's denial to hike MSP of paddy it clearly going against farmer's interests.
