Assembly Winter Session from tomorrow, security tightened

Bhubaneswar: Security has been tightened and patrolling intensified in the city for the ensuing Winter Session of the Assembly beginning Tuesday.

As many as 26 platoons of forces and 120 officers have been pressed into service and security arrangements have been beefed up across the city including key junctions.

The entire Mahatma Gandhi Marg (MGM) (between the Master Canteen Square and PMG Square will be under CCTV surveillance.

The Commissionerate police also decided to deploy Quick Reaction Team (QRT) to avert any untoward incident.

Commissioner of Police YB Khurania and Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi today took stock of the security arrangements in the presence of senior police and intelligence officials on Sunday.

The Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin from November 28. The session will continue till December 30. The session will have a total of 26 working days.
