Jumbo tramples man to death in Angul

Angul: It seems that there is not let up in incidences of deaths of villagers in wild elephants' attacks in the State.

It is so convinced from the fact that such incidents are being reported now and then in villages near forests.

During wee hours of Thursday, a villager of Barapadar under Athamallik subdivision in Angul district was trampled to death by a jumbo at his paddy harvesting yard.

The deceased, identified as Sushil Behera, was sleeping on the paddy yard to guard his paddy. However, an elephant came around 3 am to eat paddy and trampled him to death.

A pal of gloom has descended in the village following his death.
