A six-member team of the NIA, Kolkata had nabbed Khan from his house at Kissan Nagar under Cuttack district's Salepur police limits on November 29.
The NIA sleuths allegedly collected some documents from his house in Kishor Nagar and also seized his cell phone. Then Akhtar's son Asfaq had then stated that he had no knowledge about his father having links with any terror organisations.
Akhtar had reportedly stayed in Dubai and South Arabia for about 12 years. He came back to Odisha only four years ago.
