Maoists kill tribal man in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: In another incident of Maoist violence, Red rebels killed a villager suspecting him as a police informer in the cut-off Chitrakonda area in Malkangiri district late on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Sadhu Khemudu of Pipalpadar village. Besides killing Sadhu, the Maoists have also burnt two tractors and a JCB at a contractor's camp in the village.

According to reports, 30 to 40 Maoists came to the village last night and forcibly took away Sadhu to a secluded place in the village end. They then killed him by slitting his throat.

It is learned that Maoists have opposed the ongoing construction of roads in order to connect inaccessible areas.
