Space whiz Susmita Mohanty to lead 'Mo School' campaign

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on wednesday appointed Dr Susmita Mohanty as the chairperson of 'Mo School' programme for developing school infrastructure by involving the alumni.

Dr Mohanty is the CEO of Earth2Orbit. Earlier on November 14, on the occasion of Children's Day, Patnaik had declared an initial corpus of Rs 100 crore for this initiative to increase public participation in improving school infrastructure.

Under the programme 100 distinguished personalities would contribute for infrastructure development of their alma mater or any schools and the state will contribute double the amount.

Maintaining that each one of us has got an emotional attachment to the school we have studied and want to contribute to the development of our school, Patnaik at that time said that 'Mo School' campaign will promote and facilitate volunteerism to give back to our alma maters.

'Mo School campaign seeks to connect you to your school, your childhood memories. It will make you an active participant in the development journey of your alma mater and be a part of the change you want to see in your school,' Patnaik had said.
