Indigenous AAD interceptor to be test-fired today

Bhubaneswar: The indigenously-make Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile would be test-fired from launching complex-IV of Dhamara Abdul Kalam defence base in Bhadrak district today.

The AAD is likely to be test-fired at 10 am or anytime before or after on availability of a clear weather, according to reports. 

The interceptor missile is a 7.5-metre-long single stage solid rocket propelled guided missile. It can carry 1.2-weight destructive payload and destroy the incoming hostile ballistic missile in the endo-atmospheric region (less than 30 km altitude).
