CJI opens two-day lawyers' meet begins in city

Bhubaneswar: The two-day 46th All Odisha Lawyers' Conference was inaugurated by Chief Justice of India Justice Dipak Misra here today.

Being organised by the All Odisha Lawyers' Association in collaboration with the Bhubaneswar Bar Association, the conference will end on Saturday.

Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Vineet Saran, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Nepal Supreme Court judge Justice Annand Mohan Bhattray and Law Minister Pratap Jena also graced the inaugural session.

The CJI and the Chief Minister highlighted the noble role of lawyers in justice delivery system.

The valedictory event will be graced by Finance Minister Sashibhusan Behera, Culture Minister Ashok Panda, informed association president Gyana Ranjan Mohanty.
Hundreds of lawyers from across the State participated in the two-day event.

A memorandum highlighting various demands of lawyers will be presented to the State Government during the event, sources said.
