Odia among 14 killed in Mumbai fire mishap

Bhubaneswar: An Odia, including 14 persons were killed and 19 others injured in a major fire broke out on the top floor of a building inside the Kamala Mill compound in Lower Parel in the early hours of Friday in Mumbai.

The deceased was identified as Sarabjit Parida of Badapatapur village in Nilagiri in Balasore district.

The fire broke out in the One Above eatery around 12.30 am and engulfed neighbouring establishments.

Sources said the majority of the victims were women attending a birthday party at the restaurant.

The 28-year-old woman celebrating her birthday was among those who died, the sources added.
