319 quintal paddy seized in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Civil Supplies department sleuths with help of police seized a truck load of paddy from Kotameta in Malkangiri district early this morning. 

A total of 319 quintals of paddy were being illegally transported to Andhra Pradesh from Odisha when the sleuths seized the truck at Kotameta. Three persons were also taken into detention.

It is alleged that farmers are selling paddy to private traders as Government Mandis have delayed in procurement of paddy.
