Power discom SDO assaulted in Mayurbhanj, looted

Baripada: Some unidentified armed miscreants assaulted a power distribution company officer by tying him his hands and legs and then decamped with Rs 2.5 lakh and a laptop in Udala in Mayurbhanj district late on Friday night.

According to sources, a group five unidentified armed miscreants barged into the Nesco office located in Udala and tied the hands and legs of Sub-Divisional officer (SDO) Prasanna inside a room and looted the cash kept in the office iron chest along with a laptop.

On being informed, local police rushed to the spot and rescued the SDO. Manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
