CM announces ex-gratia of 5 lakh to jawan Pradeep's kin

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for for the next of kin of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Pradeep Kumar Panda, who lost his life in Pulwama terror attack.

Her widow will be provided Rs 2,000 pension per month. 

Panda among five CRPF personnel were killed while three others injured when heavily-armed terrorists stormed the camp of the paramilitary force at Lethpora in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours of Sunday.

The terrorists first lobbed grenades and then began indiscriminate firing and entered the training centre in Awantipora. Three terrorists were also killed.

The body of Panda will reach Odisha today.

Sources said his mortal remains Panda will be cremated at his native place in Liploi in Sundargarh district today. He had joined the paramilitary force in 2006. He was with the CRPF 132 Battalion.
