Bhubaneswar: The intensity of cold wave conditions prevailing in the state is expected to increase from Today onwards as the sky will mostly remain clear.
'The intensity of cold will increase in the State and there will be further drop in night temperatures as the sky is likely to remain clear,' Sarat Chandra Sahu, director, Regional Meteorological Centre, said.
The Met department here, in its bulletin for the day, said that shallow fog has been observed at one or two places over north Orissa and rainfall occurred at one or two places over Coastal Odisha.
It said that weather has been dry in interior pockets, adding, the minimum temperatures fell appreciably over coastal belt, but remained normal.
Tuesday, the lowest minimum temperature of 07.0 Deg C was recorded at Phulbani. The temperature was 8.0 Deg C in Daringbadi. Besides, minimum temperatures in places such as Angul, Baripada, Jharsuguda, Keonjhargar, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Hirakud and Bhawanipatna remained between 9.0 Deg C to 12.0 Deg C.
Malkangiri recorded the highest temperature at 32.6 Deg C.
The cold wave condition has severely affected life in Phulbani and some other places, in addition to hitting the rail services in the state.
