My arrest will lessen possibility of money refund: Seashore CMD

Bhubaneswar: Seashore chit fund company CMD Prashant Dash, who was arrested again on Saturday morning, said his arrest would only lessen the possibility of refunding money to investors.

'I will keep returning money till end of my life. A further arrest would only lessen possibility of returning money to investors,' Dash told reporters after he was arrested by Dhenkanal police from his Jharpada residence here. He was arrested in connection with two cases.

Dash further stated that no pressure was put on him. He expressed hopes that he would get justice from the court.

Notably, Das was released from the Jharpada Special Jail here on Friday after availing bail in eight cases against him.

The CBI, which is probing into the mega chit fund scam, had filed a 276-page charge-sheet in which it had named Prashant Dash, his brother Pravat Dash and middleman Subhankar Nayak and accused the company of swindling Rs 578.20 crore from investors.
