Bhubaneswar: A day after three rounds of bullets were fired at a BJP leader's house in by-poll bound Bijepur, BJP national general secretary and party Odisha in-charge Arun Singh today took a swipe at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Government, claiming that their "fear of losing the election" was making BJD unleash violence.
Singh who reached in Odisha on a two-day visit today condemned the firing incident and said BJD is terrorising people by adopting violence methods.
The local BJP leaders alleged that BJD is involved in the crime and demanded a thorough inquiry in to the mishap.
According to sources, some unidentified miscreants who had their faces covered came in a Bolero SUV and fired gunshots at the residence of Manoranjan Meher, circle president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP, at around 8 pm in Pada village.
No causality was reported. The bullets pierced through door and wall of the house.
Bijepur police is investigating the matter. No arrest was made as yet in this connection.
