Boulders weighing over a quintal fell from the Rasulgarh Over Bridge

Bhubaneswar: It was late in the Tuesday evening, when the traffic was at its peak beneath the Rasulgarh bridge which happens to be the gateway to the 'No 1 Smart City'. Denizens of the Capital City experienced a horrifying experience on  evening, as large boulders weighing over a quintal fell from the Rasulgarh Over Bridge.

There was commotion and scare amidst the crowd which gathered near the bridge after around four big boulders, followed by splinters fell on the ground and scattered on the round-about and the the service road.

While the civic authorities, NHAI and Commissionerate of Police are yet to reach the spot and assess the damage and its possible repercussions, the eye-witnesses alleged it was due to faulty and haste construction of the flyover on National Highway 16.

The incident prompted angry reactions from the Temple City public, who had witnessed the fatal 'Bomikhal over bridge mishap,' few months back. One person was killed and several others injured when a slab came down from the under construction flyover at Bomikhal area.
