Ragging death: Visakhapatnam cops to visit Odisha today

Sambalpur: A day after the Odisha Police formally handed over the FIR copy to PM Palem police in Vishakhapatnam to take up the investigation in the mysterious death of Shreyash Kesharwani (16), a native of Sambalpur, a four-member police team from the neighbouring State would visit Odisha today.

Sources said the team will leave Vishakhapatnam at around 2 pm.

Shreyash was pursuing Plus II at the Sri Chaitanya Junior College at Marikavalasa in Vishakhapatnam and died allegedly due to torture by other inmates of the hostel.

The minor boy was allegedly thrashed by a few students of the college. His parents brought him to their village in Garposh in Sambalpur on December 29 for treatment.
