13 villages of Kotia GP to be connected with electricity in 7 days

Bhubaneswar: Alerted over Andhra Pradesh Government's trespassing into the bordering Kotia area in Odisha, the Koraput district administration has announced to provide electricity connectivity to 13 of 21 villages in the Kotia gram panchayat.

Koraput district Collector Anupama Saha has directed officials to ensure electricity connectively in seven days' time.

It may be noted that the Vizianagaram district administration had recently organised a Janmabhoomi meeting and distributed blanket and Rs 1,000 pension to 65 families in the area. It surprised Odisha that claims complete control over the 21 villages of Kotia village in Koraput district.

Rising to the situation, the Koraput Collector sent a team led by Sub-Collector Pitabas Raut to the village on Tuesday evening to take stock of the situation. However, the AP officials had left the village by the time Odisha team reached there.
