Koraput: The State Government today introduced bus services between Talagolaru to Kotia in Koraput district.
Waking up to the need of providing basic facilities in the remote tribal villages in Koraput bordering Andhra Pradesh, the State Government ensured an Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus for the villages in Kotia grampanchayat.
The move came just days after Andhra Pradesh Government officials distributed freebies to the tribals in Kotia gram panchayat in Koraput by organising a special programme.
Earlier this week, the District Planning Committee led by Pottangi MLA Prafulla Pangivisited villages in Kotia gram panchayat and assured of bus services to the area. The committee reviewed the ongoing developmental projects in Kotia.
Meanwhile, Koraput district Collector Anupam Shah submitted a report to the Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on trespassing of Andhra officials to the border villages in the State.
On the other hand BJP urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to immediately visit Kotia clusters of villages and take stock of the situation arguing that such a visit by the CM will have a good impact on the people living in the disputed villages.
