Major fire in Bhadrak village; 75 houses reduced to ashes

Bhadrak: Just two days after a major fire burnt more than 100 houses to ashes in a slum in Brahmapur city and left dwellers in the lurch, 29 families of Khadimahari Bharatisahi village of Kashipur gram panchayat under Bhadrak district's Dhamnagar block faced same drastic situation this morning.

According to reports, 75 houses and properties worth lakhs of rupees have been completely burnt as a blaze spread early this morning. All the houses were thatched ones and in a row close to each other. The reason behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.

Reports said as many as three fire brigades were still engaged in extinguishing fire.

All household articles, dresses and other valuables have been reduced to ashes. 
District administration officials were yet to reach the village.
