Khurda lady teacher murder accused arrested in Gujarat

Khurda: Almost 15 days after a lady teacher was brutally beaten and stoned to death in Nirakarpur area in Khurda district on January 5, police have arrested the main accused from Gujarat.

According to sources, a special team of the Nirakarpur police nabbed the accused Kunu Jena from Gujarat. Police will share the details about the murder in a press conference today.

Sources said Jena killed Anjali Dehury of Kantabada village under Begunia Tehsil, who was working in Ugratara Nodal ME School in Haripur area under Nirakarpur police station, on January 5, after the victim caught him red handed in a compromising position with a minor.

She was staying with one of her relatives at Badapokharia area. She was returning home when she was attacked with bamboo stick and also with stone. She had injuries on the head and face.

Dehury was unmarried and had started working as a teacher about six years back.
After committing the crime, the main accused managed to flee to Gujarat. During investigation, police came to know about the involvement of Jena.
