DGP unveils Prevent cyber crime fraud booklet, felicitates 24 cops

Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police (DGP) Dr RP Sharma on Saturday released a booklet containing guidelines and advisories to bring public awareness in order to prevent cyber crime frauds.

Sharma also inaugurated an electronic public display in Crime Branch building which will continuously show guidelines to prevent cyber crime.

A dedicated Cyber Crime Petition Cell has also been opened to receive and register public complaints related to cyber crime.


Crime Branch as a Nodal Agency plays a very crucial role in ensuring quality investigation, monitoring prosecution as well as increasing the rate of conviction.

In order to motivate Investigating Officers in cyber crime cases, the DGP also felicitated 24 Investigating Officers of the State whose meticulous investigation and prosecution led to conviction in important cases in the 2017.
