BSF jawans help postnatal woman in Malkangiri

Malkangiri:  The exemplary humanitarian service by the jawans of Border Security Force (BSF) in the Maoist prone remote areas of Malkangiri district has received widespread acclaim from all quarters across the country.

Sources said Rukuna Kanchai, a 19-year-old woman of Janatapai village under Papermetla Police Station limits in the cut-off areas of Malkangiri district gave birth to a male child at the Badapada Primary Health Centre (PHC) in the early morning hours on Saturday.

Acting on the request, some BSF jawans from the COB (company operated base), Badapada led by Assistant Commandant Sandip Kumar Gupta and Assistant Commandant Sushil Singh of the Janbai BSF security camp rushed to the PHC and took the woman in a stretcher and carried her to the Chitrakonda CHC in a power boat.

The timely action of the BSF jawans in saving the life of a woman has been highly appreciated not only by the tribals of Malkangiri district but also from several quarters across Odisha and the country.
